Musical Valentines Cards

Today and tomorrow I am sharing with you some cards that I have been selling locally at a music shop. The CD wallet is not quite finished! To make the cards I used a colour palette of real red, basic black and whisper white card and in. I used the Music from the Heart stamp set for all of the stamping and I used my last years (but still available in the main catalogue) Meant to be  stamps and Be mine stitched framelit dies. Are you ready for valentines day - did you get your card organised yet? I am not ...! Cant decide which one I like the best. JoPx

Party Favours

Look at these great party favours put them in a treat bag or give them out as prizes. I gave mine out at a recent class.  I saw these colourful sweets in Marks and Spencers and they exactly fit the Stampin Up treat bags sadly now retired - but don't let that deter you. Just make your own treat bags with the circle shaped top adorned with these cute fellows.  I hid the end f the plastic bag underneath the decoration. I used a retired scallop circle punch for the back in DSP and then an ordinary circle punch in white card to frame the little bonanza Buddy on the front.  Use dimensions to stick it all together! Stampin' Through the Catalogue Challenge - A Special Someone

This stamp set is super-cute and I am shelling out of my 'Bonanza Buddies' birthday ideas for a moment to participate in the #stampinthroughthecatalogue challenge, which is this stamp set. I have made three cards altogether. This set has everything going for it - a good price £16.00 for 23 stamps. 3 cute images with backgrounds to colour them in if you hate colouring in (like me!) Also it has flower images, balloon images including a heart shaped balloon. The teeniest tiniest butterfly image also - perfect for making your own background papers. Then it also has birthday , get well and thank you sentiments. To top it all off - Stampin' Up from the 4th February are offering - for a limited time some dies to match the set also.  This card was made using the dies - as you can see there is some grass and flowers and a speech bubble to fit the stamp set sentiments perfectly. This card has already been sent to a friend - I had to take a quick photo! Check my shop on the 4th

Balloon Tags

It struck me that the little label dies in the Bonanza Die set would make really nice tags for balloons at a children's party. If the balloons are helium you could also weight them. I have used some fake balloons in this photograph because I don't actually have a party lined up at the moment with balloons - but I actually like the look of them on my craft room wall so they are staying there as wall art for the time being!!  I cut the Tag shaped die from the set and decorated each with a strip of designer series paper along the bottom (just use up your scraps) Then I punched some 3/4 inch diameter circles using the circle punch and wrote with a sharpie pen each letter of the persons name. Then I decorated the rest of the tag with the stamped and die cut images from the Bonanza Buddies suite. Dont forget the mini pompoms on the top of their party hats!  Is there anything else I can do with this set? Well ..... yes of course - after the party the photos will need

Australia Day

The Bonanza Buddies Stamp set is coming in handy to help raise money for Australia's wildlife crisis following the devastating firs in which people and animals lost their homes. WWF is also a great place to donate. A friend and I made these cards right after the Australian craft guild put knitting pouches on hold as now it is important to feed the rescued animals - it was taking me ages to knit one pouch - so much easier to raise money and locally there are a couple of fund raisers to which these cards will be donated to. There is another stamp set with a kangaroo image also - I don't have this one but I am considering getting it because some of the fund raising events are not taking place until February. The Bonanza Buddies Stamp set has the Koala £16.00 and the Animal Outing stamp set £20.00  has the Kanger! And look at this card from the catalogue - it has a koala in its pouch! I have pictured both below and both are order able from my shop if you too would like to

Cake Frill

I was never very good at icing cakes so I often make a cake frill to cheer up a cake. I'm quite fond of cake bunting also (but that might be another project to show you on another day!) Here is one I made using the Birthday Buddies stamp set and designer series papers. I cut along a piece of daffodil delight cardstock about 2cm in on each edge using some scissors I bought from Stampin up that cut a few fringes at the same time. You could also use chive snips as these are similar - my top tip - if using special bring scissors or just the two bladed kind is to score a line up to where your cut will be - this helps you to ensure the fringe is nice and even. I have not given dimensions because each cake is different and you will size according to your own size cake.  When you make the cake frill it is likely you will need to glue one or even two pieces of 12 x 12 card and paper together in order to reach around your cake. I needed exactly two lengths of card and paper from mine.

Bees - Set of 6 notecards and envelopes

This is a fairly simple box that will hold 6 cards and envelopes so you can make a notecard gift set as a gift. The cards in this set are 15cm x 10.5cm and the envelopes are slightly larger 16cm x 11.5cm. 1. Cut the back and front piece from a piece of black cardstock measuring 30cm x 12cm. Then score along the long edge at 17cm and 19cm. 2. The front panel is a piece of black card measuring 10.5cm x 7.5cm 3. The card for the box part is black cardstock measuring 16cm x 20cm. Score along the 20cm edge at 8.5 and 10.5 and along the 16cm edge at 2cm, 14cm (see photograph of pattern)  You make this piece into a box and then glue piece 1. to the back of the box piece. Then you offset piece 2 at the front and add a velcro dot to close. After I had made the box I decided that if I was gifting it the person concerned might like a choice of sentiment on the front so I have added a small pocket on the front. This holds a batch of sentiments such as 'thank you' 'hap

Bees - my little gift packets

When I had my open day on the 4th January I made these little gift packets which had a bee giant paperclip with my class dates for January to April 2020. The paperclips are so easy to make, just stamp the large bee in the Honey Bee stamp set and cut out with its co-ordinating die and then place 3 stampin' Dimensionals as shown in the photograph, sandwiching the top of the paperclip in the middle. I think it makes a great bookmark but is also very handy for clipping paperwork together. My packets were made using these cute ziplock bags which are designed to hold herbs. I was intending to use them to collect seeds in for the garden but they have a plastic coating so I'm not sure if they will breath properly and my seeds may all go to mold!! So instead I used them as little packets with the beehive and bee cut out die piece on the front and sweets and a small pen inside. It was a lovely day and I enjoyed everyones company. We made a bee card at the make and take which

Dandelion Wishes - Can be Valentines too!

Once again trawling through my stamp collection and came across this one (I love dandelions!) I stamped it using the baby wipe technique - this is a technique where you make yourself a little ink pad by dropping different coloured inks from the re-inkers onto a stack of around 4 baby wipes. Watch and see them spread out a little and then ink up your stamp on the top. It gives this pretty multi coloured effect! I stamped in one of the dandelion images and one of the sentiments from the set. I used night of navy, real red and daffodil delight re-inkers on my baby wipe pad. I mounted up on night of navy mat and card base and in the middle is some designer series paper called 'See a silhouette' I featured a stamp set from the same suite yesterday. I had the paper in mind right from the start and that is where I chose the colour combination for the baby wipe ink pad. Here is the stamp set images. Just lushy! I used a mini bulldog clip in silver with a little hank of re

Together Forever

I just bought the suite with this stamp set from the main catalogue I have been wanting it for ages and ages mainly because it has a die of a dandelion and I love dandelions they are my 'thing!' but I won't buy a stamp set until I know lots and lots of ways I can use it so I have only just got this and following the success of the Birthday Bonanza suite (and I still have lots more posts with this set to show you) the suite works for me really well. So I bought the dies along with stamp set, glitter embossing powder in white and black, co-ordinating papers , ribbon and it also came with some really cute mini bulldog clips which I have used in a couple of posts this week.  I will use this set and do a whole week of it later, but for now I am concentrating on blogging valentines and mothers day and Easter - so many events coming along to enjoy!  This card I used watercolour paper which is quite bumpy and thick. I spritzed it all over with water and then sprinkled on

Bee Nursery Rhyme Book - Star Book or Bound

I made this cute nursery rhyme book based on a nursery rhyme about counting bees in the beehive. I thought it would look great as a star book but you could make it work for you anyway you like. I have included other versions to try below. I used the Honey Bee stamp set and Detailed Bee dies and the Golden Honey Speciality Designer Series Papers free with a qualifying purchase with Sale-a-bration. I used my computer to type up the words to the nursery rhyme as I remember it, but I could not remember how it ended and could not find it anywhere on the internet and so I made up the last two verses myself! (If you would like a PDF copy see how to get one,  already the right size and lined up, at the bottom of this post!) I have outlined each page on my PDF with a yellow frame to make the pages easier to cut out. The pages measure 31/4 inches square and so each double page is 61/2 inches by 31/4. Decorate the front cover however you like.  I used the Hand Lettered Prose Dies for the
