Gardeners Gift

This little gift set was made with a gardening friend in mind. It would make a great gift for Mothers Day also! The folder is made to house a large notebook and 6 seed packets and a matching pen. I covered the notebook in the DSP and cut elements out using the stamp set and dies. The little metal label is Stampin' Up metal element from a few years ago. I have left the writing on seed packets and notebook to the recipient of the present. The measurements for the folder are shown below.  The black dotted lines show score lines and striped area is cut out and the bold red line is a cut line. When you have snipped out the shaded piece you can make two small squares that are scored 0.5 inches on each side for the pen holders - there are 5 sides because two overlap and glue. Then glue onto the main piece as shown below.   The seed packet side is glued flat. The notebook side is glued with an extra fold at the bottom - this makes the seed packet pocket half and inch long

A holder for my music CDs

I am a very bad saxophone student, and I noticed my CD's that go with my learn to play books and my reeds were getting very messy and along came the lovely Music from the Heart stamp set ..... so I made a little book to hold them. The above photograph is the front cover. Inside are pages with pockets that hold the CDs and the reeds. I have decorated some plastic CD covers and put them into the pockets to keep the CDs nice and clean. Generally when CD's come with music books they are in these little plastic covers stuck inside the cover of the book and they tend to get lost. They are also very cheap to buy on the internet and I had a pack of 100 and I use them to hold all of my spare die cuts inside each of my die cut folders and for prepared pieces for classes and for holding stamping dimensionals - they are very handy little covers!!!  The pages are made using the hinge system - You score a piece of card 6 inches wide every 1 inch and 1 inch and then half inch and

Babywipe Technique

The bee stamps and dies from Honey Bee stamp set were used on these two cards along with some paper from the 'See a Silhouette' designer series paper. The paper has some super colourful designs which I love love love and one of the designs has hexagons. I cut around some of the shape and added it to the card and then stamped using Babywipe technique. Babywipe technique is a technique where you make your own colourful ink pad using about 4 baby wipes folded in half inside a plastic sandwich container (the chinese takeaway type). You add drops of ink from your watercolour reindeer refits. I used 3 colours : night of navy, real red and daffodil delight. Drop the colours onto the baby wipe stack and they gradually spread out and join up to each other until the whole surface is covered. It is then ready to use as an ink pad. If you put the lid on your sandwich container this lovely ink pad lasts two to three days. TIP - when you are inking your stamps be sure to keep the stam

Cute Easter or Baby

Oh ! Did I have fun with these little animals from the 'Welcome Easter' stamp set. Its a very simple stamp set - there are no dies and no punches to match but the images a pretty easy to cut out if you want them to be mounted onto a card like these ones are.  Do you love colouring? I actually don't but I did manage to put a bit of colour onto these without going outside of the edges too much. I used Stamping Blends but you could use pencils, paints, chalks or just normal pens! All of the card use a frame cut using two dies from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies' If you have a die cutter these are a great BASIC for your die collection - I who them out quite often as the set includes squares, circles and ovals - so versatile. Great for framing up any images!  I have used a white card blank for all of the cards and also a white mat layer onto which I stamped a greeting from the stamp set.  The other thing I really like about this stamp set was that as w

Over 1000 Reactions - Let It Ride

I put this card onto the Stampin' Up Demonstrators facebook page and received such a great response! I was quite overwhelmed. Its a shame the people who loved it are all fellow demonstrators as this results in zero sales for me !! If only I could suss out how to bring my blog and my shop to card makers in the same way!  One of the reasons a lot of other demonstrators loved this card was that I used a stamp set that has been around in the main catalogue for quite a while called 'Let it Ride ' and teamed it with a die that has only recently come out of a gated arbour from a die set called Garden Gateway dies - I took the die and just cut off the arch leaving the gate and then glued one part of the gate directly to the card and the second gate on top but swung back with a little rope made of linen thread. A bit of very simple colouring using watercolour pencils. The little bird on the fence is also from the new stamp set Graces Garden that co-ordinates with the dies.

Musical Themed Cards

I recently made a couple of my musical friends a birthday card. I used the lovely 'Music from the Heart ' stamp set and stitched squares from the "Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies' The background paper  is from the Peaceful Poppies DSP pack. I bought the little treble clef charms from E Bay! The card above I stitched a panel of Designer Series Paper to the card before adding the stamped and side cut images. Koala Bears - Australian Animals Fundraiser

A lot of fun at our local hall this Sunday we held a fundraiser and raised £449 towards the Australian Animals care - as well as knitting some pouches at craft group. Above are some cards I made I made about 10 of each and used the Bonanza Buddies koala stamp and some dies from 'Sweet Silhouettes ' die set - all in crumb cake for a slightly more sophisticated card. The little piece of dandelion 'fluff' is from the stamp set 'Dandelion Wishes' Some friends and I also stamped a heap of these birthday Koalas - I may have shown these before we held the sale. Timeless Tulips - Cut out technique

This is such an easy technique and so effective! You stamp out across your card using the Timeless tulip stamp images and the technique of sponging the edges as on my blog two days ago - but this time you run the card through the big shot with either the two stitched square frames or using a die cut with letters. This one I have used is now retired but you may have some dies for letters in your stash.  Once you have die cut the frame /letters you glue the back of the card onto the card base or the card mat and then pop the frame/ letters onto dimensionals - I used the mini dimensions for the frame and the normal sized ones for the letters. I hope you like this technique. Mothers Day in the UK is March 22nd so plenty of time to get organised with your crafting and I have lots of other flowery projects planned for this month! JoPx

Sponged panel - Timeless Tulips Card - Mothers Day

This card was made using the Timeless Tulips stamp set featured yesterday. Today I have used a technique where a strip of the card background is sponged. You mask off the strip using some post it notes and then lightly sponge, using sponge daubers. the bit in between. I used pink and yellow colours near the top and the green near the bottom. Then just stamp your images on top of the strip. I separately stamped two of the medium sized tulips and cut them out with scissors and used some stampin' dimensionals to adhere them directly on top of the stamped images. I added some little dots from my stash in the same colours I used on the card. Love Stampin' Up colour co-ordination! I have two more card tomorrow which I have stepped up using a new technique. Stay posted. JoPx

Tulips from Amsterdam

I used a colour palette of So Saffron, Melon Mambo and Pear Pizazz for these cards. I love making a big batch together. I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set and the co-ordinating tulip builder punch. I love having punches, I don't have to get up and sort out the die cutting machine and I can punch anywhere! The stamps are photopolymer which means that you can see for placement. I stamped first in the So Saffron ink and then I inked the bottom of the stamp with a sponge dauber and stamped off once and then stamped over the original stamped image to create this pretty ombre effect. Some of the tulips I have stamped and cut out and one I have part cut out. There is a lovely array of sentiments in this stamp set and a lovely font - so its worth going for just for these! They would be especially great for Mothers Day. If you want to buy the set for your mother for mothers day contact me! I can organise some gift packaging and a matching card - for free when you order the bund

Pancake Day Preparations

There is a fundraiser a the local hall on pancake day (Shrove Tuesday) and we were in need of some numbers to organise the selling and serving of the pancakes and so I found my retired set of stamps called Lemon Zest and the co-ordinating lemon builder punch and got to work and soon whizzed up these numbers to give people waiting for their food. I also think they will make the tables look lovely and bright and cheery too. I do love this set and glad it still is on my shelf!  I also noticed that the lemon builder punch is currently on the Clearance rack reduced from £17.00 to £10.20. Why not grab yourself some bargains - follow the links to my shop in the menu above - then hop to the joppy shop!! The final decision has not yet been made on what container to place them in - at the moment I am playing with a few ideas and I already have these little terracotta pots!! I will report back at the end of the month on how it all went and what the final decision was!! JoPx
